About Kurt
During my 10-year career with Hennepin County, I have worked in Transportation Construction, Operations, as well as in IT. These roles required significant expertise in the technical and legal aspects of infrastructure and utility projects. I have also collaborated on the development of fiber optic networks across Hennepin County.
I've honed the skills necessary to navigate complex projects and champion ones that address our residents' needs. My expertise will be especially relevant as we move into the construction stage of Rice Creek Commons.
As chair of the Planning Commission, I led discussion in the review of the Planned Unit Development of the Lake Johanna Fire Station headquarters that will be built in Arden Hills.
I've served for 4+ years on the Arden Hills Planning Commission as both Commissioner and currently Chair. My tenure on the Commission has afforded me invaluable insights into city governance and community planning.
I volunteered for the Volunteer Lawyer Network as part of my Senior Project at the University of Minnesota. I conducted initial intake interviews with those seeking aid, and I completed data entry for the organization.
I recently participated in the Valentine Hills PTA playground reconstruction project.
Every week I donate time to several elderly neighbors and relatives who are no longer physically able to take care of their lawns.
Family is the cornerstone of my life. My three daughters attend Mounds View schools. They have boundless curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. My wife serves as an Emergency Dispatcher for the City of Minneapolis. My eldest daughter served on the Arden Hills Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee (PTRC) up until her graduation from Irondale High School. Our family believes that action is the best way to serve our community, and we are truly committed to public service.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S in Sociology of Law. During my studies I gained a deep understanding of the societal dynamics that shape policy and community development.
